I’m so excited! I’m the guest judge for two Minted Design Challenges. One is for birth announcements. And one is for birthday invitations. With so many amazing designs and over 400 entries it’s been hard to narrow down my favorites to my top 6. But the fact is, I’ve been charged to pick a winner, so I buckled down and made some choices.
I could use your help for this final stretch! Won’t you please help me pick the winner? Leave a comment and let me know what you think of the top six birth announcement designs (see below). Which one do you think is the most creative or the cutest? Do you have a favorite?

#1 is so striking, dynamic, and beautifully simple. it’s got my vote!
I LOVE number 6 – could be for boy or girl, so so cute! But number 5 really caught my eye too.

I like #3…they are all really great though.
5, though I’m surprised to say this, I don’t love any of them. ouch, honesty hurts sometimes (sorry).
I like #1 and #5 a lot, but, because of the simple design, they rely on having a great photo — which, let’s face it — not all of us can capture, especially of a newborn. #2 is pretty, but feels like its been done before. #3 is a cool design, but you don’t get a very big photo of the baby, and I think people like to see what the baby looks like. I think #4 and #6 work best — they are classic and cute, respectively, and you don’t have to be a photographer to make them look good (meaning they don’t completely rely on a good photo).
P.S. Anyone else find it amusing that the same baby photo is used for Ashlee (#3) and Oliver (#6)? :)
I think 5 is just gorgeous. I’m all about the simpler ones. We ordered our announcements through Minted.com and I was amazed at how well they turned out.

I love #1 and #5 – adorable flowers and the blanket peek is cute.
#1 because it’s simple.
So many to love..I like 1 &5 the best because they are so pretty you could frame them and honestly, baby picture trumps announcement to me.

Number 5! It’s so simple and focuses on baby! You do have to have a good picture though….
I like 1 and 3. One, because it is simple and only gives the important information with a baby that looks like he is smiling and three because I really like yellow
#3! I am such a fan of green and it just seems to baby-fresh.
I think #4 is beautiful, but my very favourite is #5 because the photo takes center stage. And the lovely, abstract flowers look very whimsical and give a pop of colour.
Design #1 is my favourite. So simple, yet so cute. I’ve never seen a design like this done before which is why it gets my vote!

I love #1. It’s simple and striking, yet it’s also all about the baby rather than some pretty graphics. It’s really lovely. x

I like #1. It has attitude! Plus it’s clean and simple, yet dramatic.
I totally love #6! I did one similar for my son’s birth announcement — but instead I took a nice photo of him in cardboard box with lots of packing pop-corn and had it titled “special delivery”. On the back of the card, I listed all the “packing slip” information which consisted of weight, height, etc. At the end, I put “All deliveries are final. No returns” Everyone loved them! :)

I love #1 and #5, but the photos are their strongest point and the photos ARE NOT OF NEWBORNS!!! The real challenge in photo birth announcements is taking a beautiful photo of a newborn, which, well, how do I say it, look like pretty much like identical little aliens. Beautiful, precious, yummy aliens mind you.

6 is my favorite, but I like 1 and 5, too. I think those 3 are all very cute, and more unlike others I have seen. Good luck!

1 + 6 though I wonder if #1 would look as good with any ol’ photo and other longer names.
I love #1. It’s less typical, and I think it’s more creative. It would totally use it for my baby!
#3 is my favorite. I haven’t seen any birth announcements that look like that.
By far, I prefer #6. Otherwise I like #3 and #4, but they aren’t much different from others I’ve seen before.

It’s a three way tie between 1,3,5. Not very much help, but if it were for my babe I would probably go with 5 for a girl and 1 for a boy. (3 if it was twins). Good luck!!
#1 by a long, long, long shot. If the idea here is to find the freshest, most creative birth announcement, this is it. Nothing twee, nothing pastel, nothing you expect to see with a birth announcement, but everything you’re hoping to find out.

#6. Only because a non-photographer could capture a good picture of the baby and use the design. If it is not based on the design of the card then I would go with #5.

#1 is great, but of course it totally depends on having that perfect picture, so it doesn’t get my vote. I’d go with #2. #6 would be my second choice.
I like the clean, modern simplicity of numero uno.
#5 is nice, but it is all about the photo. I vote #6 because you don’t have to rely on having a perfect photo + the concept is so cute!

I kind of feel like the photos of the babies are affecting my favourite choices. I prefer the last two, but that could be subjective to the photograph.
I love #5 – it is simply perfect. I agree the baby’s photo make it difficult to be objective. But any child’s face would look beautiful in this announcement.
I think the attraction for many of these is the photo. With that caveat, I really like #4. #1 is my absolute fave, but if you don’t have the right pic (with the right background, it’s not going to work out).
1,5, and 6 are the most appealing to me.

Tough choice, but I would say my favorite is number 4!
I love #1 … his cute little face just really jumps out at you and it shows his personality. This one is definitely my favorite.
Design-wise, I think #3 is my favorite. But when you’re the parent ordering a birth announcement, you want the photo(s) of your baby to really stand out and be visible. So with that in mind I’d go with #5.
#5 — beautiful. But it’s not easy.
